Sidley Austin adds Chad Hummel, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and Clayton Friedman, former senior counsel for the National Association of Attorneys General, as partners. Chad will be a member of Sidley’s litigation practice and serve as a co-leader of the firm’s new trial practice initiative. Clay, who handles high-profile multistate investigations, will join the firm’s regulatory practice. Chad was previously Co-Chair of the Trial Practice and Chair of Firmwide Strategic Development at Manatt Phelps. Clay was a senior member of Manatt’s Advertising, Marketing and Media, Consumer Protection and Government and Regulatory Practice Groups.
